The Productz

The Productz are a boom bap centric hip-hop group from Knoxville, TN consisting of three members: Devan That Dude (DJ) ILLANOVA & YoungFreeman (MC’s)

Many years after meeting each other at the first “Cypher Saturdays” open mic event hosted at The Birdhouse, the two MC’s of the group went on to perform together which led to them being told “You guys have really great product!” As straight forward as it sounded, it instantly clicked thus giving birth to the name and smiley face logo you know and love today!

As things started to pick up they knew they needed a permanent DJ to perfect their craft which led to the calling upon of Producer/DJ:
Devan That Dude

With many nights of practicing, performing, and perfecting their craft they would go on to gain a following from local shows and accomplish things like opening for major acts like:
Afroman, R.A. The Rugged Man, Cappadonna of Wu-Tang Clan, Devin The Dude, Copywrite and more!

The Productz can be compared to classic hip-hop groups such as:
Beastie Boys, Cypress Hill, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang Clan and various others.

You can catch them on the road performing all over the world or as always, here in their hometown of Knoxville, TN. Providing what they call the “Gold Standard” in hip-hop via live shows and their radio show broadcasting every Sunday night on WUTK 90.3 FM!
