Active and prolific since the '90s, left-field rap artists and siblings <a href="spotify:artist:5LhTec3c7dcqBvpLRWbMcf">Madlib</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:5PA6iCCOkq14PpMWWlhJ5T">Oh No</a> have recorded together on an infrequent basis, but in 2020 followed up a couple compilation appearances as the Professionals with a self-titled album under that name.

The Oxnard, California natives' sporadic work with one another dates back to 1999, when <a href="spotify:artist:5PA6iCCOkq14PpMWWlhJ5T">Oh No</a> was featured on Soundpieces: Da Antidote! by <a href="spotify:artist:2D0NqDyt2R9RVar9MNs8kP">Lootpack</a>, his elder brother's group. As the Professionals, they appeared in 2008 on <a href="spotify:artist:5LhTec3c7dcqBvpLRWbMcf">Madlib</a>'s WLIB: King of the Wigflip album, and three years later were credited as featured artists on <a href="spotify:artist:5LhTec3c7dcqBvpLRWbMcf">Madlib</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:4dvxhuBJRIbJtZVHGeKoDq">Frank Nitt</a>'s NittyVille. Soon after they contributed "Big Whips" to the <a href="spotify:artist:0VYyfOLiaaL7zBNEP1lqmU">All City</a> label's Gangster Music, Vol. 1 compilation (as <a href="spotify:artist:5PA6iCCOkq14PpMWWlhJ5T">Oh No</a> + <a href="spotify:artist:5LhTec3c7dcqBvpLRWbMcf">Madlib</a>), they completed a self-titled Professionals LP. The Professionals arrived on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Madlib+Invazion%22">Madlib Invazion</a> in January 2020. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
