The Qwarks

Conceived at the apogee of the 'Before-Time' (February 2020) The Qwarks dived from the harbour wall of certainty into the incandescent waters of unreason with new-minted fins & gills, swimming wildly for the horizon of promise.

Over the years they have played gigs and festivals from Craigentinny to New York, just not with each other, but now that's changed. The Qwarks have garnered fans and admirers from around the global psych-rock-proto-punk-ready-salted community/pigeonhole, and helped hone their style into a dangerous weapon, gleaming and ready for the stage.

Socially distanced, and distanced from society, they began recording their debut album in 2020. Covering universal human themes (bondage, monkeys, chairs, The Pope etc etc), and played with an aplomb bordering on actual desperation, the album, 'The Qwarks are Cancelled' was knackered together and released on 21st August 2021. Their second album, "Let's Go, Let's Grow!" dealt with issues of the total dominance of the logics of the advertising industry in this new age of 'information'. This album is only available on Bandcamp at the time of writing.

In 2023 the Qwarks have amongst other things, recently collaborated with renowned bassist Herbie Flowers on "The Tuba EP: Herbielife", described as "defying categorization, blending elements of psychedelic, experimental, and rock music seamlessly".
