Formed in Pittsburgh PA in October of 2016, The Rainbow Ends started as a progressive jazz fusion guitar trio featuring Joshua Carns,(Guitar) Kyle Greene (Bass) and Justin Banks (Drums). Their self titled debut was recorded in October and November of 2017 and released independently on June 29, 2018. The power trio performed 50 shows in the Pittsburgh area to support the album.
Carns post release immediately began working with various electronic producers to remix and modernize his compositions. His collaboration w Mayten on “Monsoon” was named “best indie EDM of 2018.” After teaming up w Mayten again on “Peninsula” for his 2020 album Martingale at the end of 2019, he began writing and recording The Rainbow Ends II set to release 1/1/2022
