the REASONABILISTS first came together in 2017 when Paing Lynn Aung decided to record the demos he had written. Kyaw Lynn Aung (Paing Lynn Aung's brother), who just finished highschool, was dragged into the band to help out with the bass guitar. Later then joined by Paing Lynn Aung's longtime friend, Okka Kyaw, who decided to take over the role of the lead guitarist. Ye Khine Oo was then brought into the band as a permanent member in 2018 for the drums. After playing a few gigs, the band got in contact with an independent record label "Bipolarbear", which produced the band's first EP album "Amour".
"Amour" kickstarted the band's musical journey, taking them to perform at one of the biggest music festivals in Myanmar; Voice of Youth Festival 2018. The band then went onto tour around India, in December 2018, marking their first ever international appearance at the "Orange Festival 2018 - Dambuk - Arunachal Pradesh", followed by "Monsam Music Festival" and "Wildernest Festival".
In February 2020, the band released their full-length album "Day/Night" through a local independent label "JAM IT! Records". In January 2022, the band released a track for "JAMIT! Amhat 2" compilation album. The band performed at the LGBTIQ+ Week Myanmar on June 2022, after being idled for over 2 years, to mark the International Pride Month. In December 2022, the band toured in Thailand, mainly to play at "LABBfest. 2022" in Chiang Mai and various gigs in Bangkok.
