Formed in Brisbane in 2016, The Redundants are a four piece band from the Northern Suburbs of Brisbane who take honest and heartbreaking lyrics and pair them with powerful guitar riffs to make really loud rock music. The band have crafted their sound and this culminated in the release of the 2018 EP "Favourite Uncle". This EP found them playing several gigs alongside other Brisbane bands. The Redundants took a break from playing shows in 2019 to focus on their writing.
They returned to live playing in late 2019 with support slots behind the Smith Street Band and UK folk legends Crywank. Their sound has matured and developed resulting in more meaningful and moving music, ending up in them releasing their final EP, Nothing Crushes Us, in March.
After several years playing shows, the band announced in 2020 they would be calling it quits.
