Influenced by 90s rock and early 2000s country radio, Roads combines new Nashville and heartland sensibility with punk love undertones. Honest lyrics from frontman Phil Evans on growing up in Arkansas, the gravelly vocal takes on polished melody gives the band a homegrown edge that can’t be mirrored in the country genre. Unsigned and taking a grassroots approach- touring the nation in a van and trailer, the band has conquered the college town bars throughout middle America while promoting themselves organically, in a scrappy manner, embracing an underground slow burn similar to pioneers before them such as Lucero and Eli Young Band.
