The Semiautos is the story of Merc trying to win Alex’s love back and reach out to her through the music. Eventually walking away from Alex and starting again with his best friend and love M girl.
When M girl calls of their engagement Merc’s world falls apart again.
With the 1967 studio album
Never officially released , the only surviving copy from Andy Warhol’s collection was the raw and uncut and unedited version.
With Rumours of a 1968 & 1969 album recorded , Hollywood wanted to do a movie on Merc and the Semis but couldn’t locate the music, so the project was shelved .
Merc’s break up with M girl inspires him to write the hit song “To my best friend “ . And slowly over time the Lord starts to heal Merc of the pain and Merc realises that this world is all about agreements and contracts . And simply if one chooses to not contract with another then there is no agreement and no love. As life unfolds the Lord brings Merc a best friend and love in a new mystery woman who comes into his life .The new mystery woman being the only one to truly captivate Merc’s heart.
With Merc changing his destiny so to does his songwriting change , and a more hopeful and fulfilled Merc starts to write from a place of peace and love .
