The Signal One Band formed in 2017 around the regular local session musicians attending Earth Works Studio in Amsterdam.
The rotating members of the band have decades of experience in previous projects working with many of reggaes legends from ska right through to some of todays headline artists - Everyone from Ernest Ranglin & Rico to Prince Alla, The Heptones, Earl 16, Vivian Jones, Donovan Kingjay, Bunnington Judah, Teddy Dan - The list is beyond extensive.
Dedicated to making the music with a vintage sound and a living heart, Signal One has already provided rhythms for a number of releases for a new roster of Artists such as King Cooper, Sista Benji,Jah Rej, Roots Unity, Ras P, MLK, Ras Chanter, Hornsman Coyote & Rapha Pico. It has had two major vinyl releases on Higher Note Records & one for Vivian Jones & Jah Works. Signal 1 Records launched in 2019, the first release being Rapha Pico - 'Lead The Way' & a limited edition custom-cut vinyl release called 'Go Down' with Nga Han & Jah Works. New music from the Signal One Band & Signal 1 Records is on the way since Earth Works Studios relocation in 2020.
