We’re a bunch of musicians in Los Angeles that have been playing music together on and off for a while. When the COVID-19 scenario manifested itself, we collectively thought, “let’s start a band and get these songs done!” To us, “The Skies Between” is a universal concept that connects disparate worlds: ancient and future threads flowing through cosmic portals and imperceptible dimensions... clearly, we’re really into science fiction, fantasy, myth/folklore and action movies. Rafe, our singer cried at the end of The Rise of Skywalker. Our keyboard player Fabian, can move things with his mind like Doctor Strange when no one is looking. Our drummer, Kazuhiro, is as elastic as Mr. Fantastic, and our guitarist, Bekay, might be proof of extraterrestrial life.

Our music is a blend of anthemic alternative rock and electronica, with influences such as Radiohead, Peter Gabriel, U2, Sigur Ros, The Police, M83, Daft Punk, Depeche Mode and Cocteau Twins, as well as various artists from the Middle East and India. Inspired by Rumi and introspection, THE SKIES BETWEEN’s lyrics incorporate common themes of the human condition- our desires, struggles and triumphs.
