The Socials are a punk/grime/indie crossover band. Fronted by Fernquest, a prominent grime and drum & bass MC on lead vocals, the band also features long-time collaborators Woody and Consumer Smith, who’ve played in indie bands together for years. Consumer Smith is a successful full-time local artist, while Woody has been writing and producing across Newport’s scene for years. After two years as a studio band honing their sound in a local art-space, The Socials are now preparing to take their songs live and release music ahead of shows in 2026.
Newport made them, and they wear it loud.
