The Sound Monkeys is a two-piece garage indie punk band from Constance, southern Germany,
mixing a trashy 90s sound with catchy vocals and a lot of fun. The band consists of Freya (drums)
and Jonas (guitar and vocals).
Started in 2016, they played more than 200 shows from Rome to London and Moscow across Europe and gained a high reputation of being an quite entertaining and joyful live band.
After their debut album Snack Lovers Compilation in 2017, a record that offers a variety of cheerful tracks about cats, peanut butter, internet memes and being on tour but also topics from self-doubt, the very own inadequacy up to farewell, their latest record dropped in 2024: Make Some Noise. Overall, the album deals with topics such as fear; friendship and standing up for each other; the problematic use of substances and the curiosities of life in general. Sometimes this ends in a nostalgic indie number, sometimes in an energetically charged punk number. Always carried by warm and reverbing surf guitar sounds and the double vocals of cute, adorable but also energetic Freya and Jonas.
