If Stephen King wrote songs instead of novels, they might sound a bit like this. The Spirit League’s debut record, Forever Yours, is a marriage of vintage stylings and all things haunted – a rock n’ roll standoff between dark and light, in which dark always seems to get the jump.
Reminiscent of the classic horror that inspired the band’s formation, each song conjures a time and place where urban legend abounds, and fiction is no more discrete from reality than the reason you lock your doors at night.
Featuring the writing and instrumental talents of some of Nashville’s best sidemen, The Spirit League is the brainchild of producer/guitarist/vocalist Kyle Ryan (production and performance credits include Kacey Musgraves, Willie Nelson, Natalie Prass, Liza Anne), drummer/producer Cam Brousseau (SYML, Hunter Hayes), keyboardist Spencer Martin (The Brummies), and bassist Benton Kubicki (Jordan Davis).
