Based in Tucson, The Steel Dutchman is a four man rock band of absurdly good-looking U of A students. Dominic Ammatelli (lead guitar and vocals), Evan Heard (bass), Joseph Weischel (guitar), and Carlos Hernandez (drums) founded the band in March 2021. Since then, they’ve been creating a sound ranging everywhere from indie soft rock to heavy neo-psychedelia. They inherit their inspiration from varying musicians such as Mac Demarco, Pink Floyd, Rage Against the Machine, and anything in between. This clash of different styles has resulted in their heavy, yet dynamic, trippy, yet tangible, thoroughly unique sound. The Dutchman has quickly developed a variety of tunes, as they’ve begun playing venues around Arizona. Keep your eyes peeled for their first EP dropping October 2021.
