While maintaining a broth-forward approach, The Stews have carved out a distinct path for themselves in the ever-changing rock scene of the 2020s.
Since forming in Auburn, AL at the turn of the decade, the band quickly gained a loyal fan base that appreciates the variety in their songs, ranging from lush, acoustic balladry to guttural, high-gain hard rock with some classic alternative influences in between.
Releasing an EP of early songs in April of 2021 and their debut album, What Was, in April of 2022, The Stews moved away from their roots playing in Southeastern college towns to become a non-stop, nationwide touring machine. Playing more than 350 shows in the last 3 years, with sellouts ranging from Washington DC’s 9:30 Club, Charleston’s Windjammer, NYC’s Bowery Ballroom, Dallas’ Granada Theater, and festival appearances at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Hangout Fest, and more, The Stews have proven that their live shows are a force to be reckoned with.
July 2024 saw The Stews release their second full-length LP, Chicken Fight—their most daring work yet.
The album was recorded in Charleston, SC, over nearly two years with producer Wolfgang Zimmerman, seeing the band expand their sonic repertoire and explore new experimentation.
Coming up on 5 years since their inception, The Stews are looking forward to reaching new heights in 2025- Including more tour dates and new music.
The Stews are Preston Hall, Blake Dobbs, Bennett Baugus, & Wyatt Griffith.
