Hailing from The Black Country, UK, Record Producer and Sound Engineer, Justin Sinclair, formed The Syphon Project in February 2021 as a creative moniker and outlet for his anthology of individual Rock & Metal solo projects. Each musical endeavour is not reflective of The Syphon as an artist, but rather a musical snapshot of whatever Justin Sinclair aspires to create in the moment, for that project.
In December 2021, The Syphon released: “The Great Chronicles Of Brundor”. The song was a throwback to classic metal and progressive rock, layered with a semi lo-fi production, it also showcased strong dramatic story telling, with a fun and exciting instrumental.
Despite the minor success of the single in Germany and Israel and also an almost cult like following in the UK. Justin Sinclair was unsatisfied with the production and sought out to remix and remaster the song at some point.
This now brings us to December 2023, with the revised release of the song. The revised edition is a heavy plodding rock and metal song, delivered in a progressive package. With firey guitar leads, a thunderous bass line, blasting drums and menacing vocals, which detail a fantastical story with an interesting point of view. Meanwhile, the production captures the whole sonic soundscape and gives you a dense listening experience and takes you on an adventure.
