The Tatters

Last updated: 2 days ago

After performing with various groups and bands, this trio of vocalists from California joined forces in November 1998. Having various abilities and artistically inclined, the Tatters took their name not from worn clothing but from the art of making lace. Two of the three vocalists, Jennie Snyder and Erika Harding, had performed together prior to Thanksgiving 1998. The group has received wide praise for their delightful harmonies, often being compared to the Andrews Sisters. They have also performed in various festivals, while individual members have performed at the Telluride Music Festival and the Nice Jazz Festival in France. The group also released some music on old vinyl 78s in their hometown, which created an old product with an often old-sounding music. In 2000, the group released their self-titled debut album. The Tatters are supported by two well-rounded musicians known as the Lowly Sidemen. The have also opened, as either a group or individually, for Bob Dylan, Marty Stuart, Townes Van Zandt, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, among others. ~ Jason MacNeil, Rovi
