A HipHop collective based in London with ties across the UK in Nottingham, Darlington and Corby as well as in Belgium, Hungary and Ireland. The Thirds make music that is (above all superlatives) honest; and encapsulates the group’s affinities to a broad range of musical genres, locations, moments in time and art forms.
The group developed a style of songwriting that is transparent, timeless, direct, and ‘under engineered’. Verses are recorded in one take and delivered candidly in the vocalist's natural voice and accent, allowing the beat to breathe and speak for itself. Symbolism and strong themes can be drawn from their lyrics, they write full songs and ballads opposed to provocative rap anthems (most of the time!)
