THE TOPIX - SOUTHERN EUROPEAN SOUL
The Topix musical project was born in Trieste (Italy) in 2015 from an idea of the
bassist and songwriter Francesco Cainero (co-founder of the electro/lounge
team Caibedo Island and bassit from Musique Boutique Lounge band) and the
guitarist and arranger Matteo Brenci who started working on the pre-production
of 9 original songs written by Cainero.
The sound of the band reflects the classics of R&B and american black soul music
(Marvin Gaye, Al Green) but above all the north European new soul wind leaded
by artists like Ole Borud, Jarle Bernhoft, Alain Clarke (the band rearranged some
songs by these artists in their live shows). The Topix creates an unique and
original sound adding the characteristics of the mediterranean melodies to the
rythmical and harmonical refinement typical of soul music.
Riccardo Gileno: lead vocals, acoustic guitar and percussions
Nicole Pellicani: lead vocals and
percussions
Matteo Brenci: electric guitar and background vocals
Francesco Cainero: electric bass and background vocals
Manuel Figelj: keyboards
Marco Vattovani: drums and percussions
