The UFO Cult

The UFO Cult is a Finnish prog/stoner/dark rock band formed in Helsinki in 2017 by Satu Hellberg (vocals, organs) and Paula Mäkinen (drums, backing vocals) later joined by Jarkko Hyötyniemi (guitar) and Merja Arramo (bass) . The band is making their debut album and before that releasing another single "Raindrops" later this year.

The band´s music has been described as unforgettable. Combining elements of sixties groove, progressive rock, stoner, nightmares and near death experiences the band creates a parallel universe which compels you to look in even though maybe you shouldn't, it doesn't look safe. But maybe just a little peek.


"Groove is in the place in this slow slice, with psychedelia flowing, and the occasional smokyness doesn't fade the direction of the trip. This is a bit like The Jefferson Airplane trying to play Black Sabbath, but the notes would have been messed up with the soundtracks of Hammer’s ‘most modern’ films... So let's keep an eye on the cult and wait for the promised second single to arrive, because the band is moving completely in their own dimensions. "
