Formed in 2009 in Mexico City, The Unholy is a metal band that blends the driving force of groove and thrash with elements of death, black, sludge, progressive rock, and hardcore punk. Comprised of J. Schoelman (vocals and drums), Santiago Urrusti (guitar), and Chema Pérez (bass), the band has developed a solid, aggressive sound influenced by the metal scene of the 1990s.

Throughout their career, The Unholy has shared the stage with acts such as Death Angel (USA), Exodus (USA), Possessed (USA), Jinjer (UKR), Hirax (USA), and Green Jellÿ (USA), in addition to performing at national and international festivals and tours, including shows in Colombia.

In 2019, they released their debut album Enmity, an eleven-track record supported by the singles “Dystopia” and “Outside the Merit.”

In 2026, the band presents “Bliss,” the first single from their second studio album, reaffirming the sonic evolution and intensity that define The Unholy.
