The Valley were born in 2018 in Cairo Montenotte (Italy) as an alt-prog project, proposing a kind of progressive that is both distorted and based on unusual time signatures, but in which the melody is always at the centre of the composition and never diluted into instrumental drifts. The songs of the band are somewhat shorter than most of classics of the genre, providing an edgier and more direct kind of prog.
The line-up is made up of four members, all coming from different musical experiences but in the same musical area of Savona. Eros Povigna, on vocals, comes from a grunge band from the 00’s called “Humor Vitreo”, Alessandro Concas, on drums, was previously a member of various bands, the most relevant one being “Sushi Bar”. Both Simone Baccino and Mattia Miniati, on bass guitar and electric guitar respectively, come from a crossover band from Savona called “Diatomea”. Definitely a musical melting pot, that creates some colorful and new music, with the intent to bring some fresh air in alt-prog scene.
In February 2025 the band becomes part of “Volcano Records & Promotion” roster, bringing its music to the attention of national and international listeners, press and radio.
