The Velvet Fields is the musical project of London based Jess Jackson, a singer/songwriter who draws influence from the natural world, film soundtracks and tales of the macabre to create an other-worldly musical experience laced with fantasy, imagination and psychedelia. Her music is inspired by legendary artists from Nick Cave to Nancy Sinatra and Karen Dalton. She also cites Sandy Denny, Jefferson Airplane and Nina Simone as references, seamlessly blending together a diverse mix of soul, folk, and hazy pop to create a truly unique, mysterious and cinematic sonic blend.
Teaming up with producer and multi-instrumentalist Billy Mohler to create the riveting and psychedelic indie folk meets pop sound of "Spellbound Still', The Velvet Field’s debut single was conceived on a trip to California after Jackson endured major life changes and ventured into a period of transformation and renewal.
