The Venusians

The Venusians founder and bandleader Matt Venuti has surfaced a few incarnations of his band that often cross-pollinate. For decades they've been featured at events such as the Burning Man, George Lucas' Star Wars Prequel Opening as well as clubs, festivals and gala events around the country. Their shows can sometimes incorporate a circus-like atmosphere and the music leans into an ambient-groove, electro-acoustic vibe. One of the unique features of the band is Matt's use of a "synth-horn", the Electronic Valve Instrument (EVI). Other stand-out elements include Daniel Berkman's masterful Kora and Handsonic playing, Robert M. Powell's soaring Pedal Steel Guitar and a host of other amazing musicians.
