Charlie Boyer got his start in music playing for a bunch of bands, most notably the folky Electricity in Our Homes, before deciding to finally do his own thing in 2012. He released a solo single ("Ducks"/"You Haven't Got a Chance") for Blank Editions, then decided to get a band together to help realize his vision of Tom Verlaine fronting a psychedelic Velvet Underground. Sam Davies, Samir Eskanda, Danny Stead, and Ross Kristian joined, and after being impressed with their gig opening for Heavenly Recordings' band TOY, the label's Jeff Barrett asked them to make a record. "I Watch You" was produced by Edwyn Collins and Seb Lewsley at their West Heath Studios and released in September of 2012. The label then asked for a full-length, and the group hit the studio again with Collins and Lewsley, emerging with the Clarietta album. It was released by Heavenly in May of 2013. After spending a long time and lots of effort refining the songs for their next album, and after a name change to just the Voyeurs, Rhubarb Rhubarb was released in late 2014. ~ Tim Sendra, Rovi
