Somewhere between stillness and indie-folk melodies, the Wisconsin Project is creating a sonic world of beautiful, slow-burning soundscape centered around cinematic textures and lyrical reflections.
“It’s somewhere between reality and a foggy memory” says lead singer Mike Wax (aka Mikey Wax), whose solo pop career has earned millions of streams and a loyal social following since 2008. With this new project, he plans to “open the well” even more and tell the stories that linger beneath the surface.
Inspired by artists like Bon Iver and SYML, The Wisconsin Project isn’t chasing trends. “When I was creating this music, it felt more like I was making a painting than a song.” says Mike. The Wisconsin Project became an endeavor to create a world where time slows down, memory blurs, and the beauty of what once was still echoes.
