The Wordsmiths formed in Penicuik a small town 6 miles south of Edinburgh in 1990. Inspired by the Madchester Scene they 'fell totally in love with and needed to be Scotland's answer to Madchester.' A collection of singles followed. All using the Madchester template of combining Indie and Dance music.
