The ZYG 808 (pronounced 'Zee Why Gee' 8-0h-8) is a world-class and Grammy nominated producer, musician, vocalist, and MC/rapper in the genres of Hip-Hop, Afrobeat, and EDM. Starting the drums at age 4, playing his first recording session as a percussionist at age 7, headlining the Boston Jazz Fest at 11, and at 13 had joining soul-funk band, The GroovaLottos as a percussionist; The ZYG 808 is a musical force in the world of music.

Hip-hop is the current playground for The ZYG 808, whose lyrics lean toward social commentary and consciousness, and he draws a distinct line between 'rappers' and 'Hip-hop artists', noting that Hip-Hop artists represent the culture and can actually MC an event as opposed to just getting up and performing a song. "The music industry might have co-opted rap music, but they get further and further away from actual Hip-Hop every day."
