Enter Theaux Elliot (pronounced “Theo ehhL-yuht”). Government name, Elliot Slamet), the behind-the-boards producer, songwriter and artist from San Francisco.
Elliot was born into art. His mother and grandparents were painters and his family wholeheartedly supported his creative pursuits, even when he decided to drop out of college and turn his hobby into a career. His appreciation for jazz, soul and symphony is steeped in his father’s record collection, but it was Elliot’s mother who threw Beastie Boys, 50 Cent and Eminem records into his lap and opened his eyes to the world of hip-hop. Once decided he wanted to make music, Elliot went through the trenches of learning how to make beats. True talent shines through adversity and with extensive trial and error, not even the shoddiest equipment could make him walk away from creating music.
The 2013 project, “Diamond Lifestyle” got Elliot and Lord Morgan’s songs on the radio and those few glimmers of early success proved their dreams are within reach. With 2016’s “Under My Roof” the two made strides in refining their sound and defining their purpose as artists. Elliot’s brand of music was born out of a stalwart faith in himself, hell-bent on staying true to his craft, taste and ideas even when those on the outside said otherwise.
