Washed with rose-tinted tones, thebiirthdayparty’s record follows a formula that works, even though not necessarily warranting the 11-track length to get to its point. Perhaps ending each song with a mini-interlude hurts the album more than adding to the appeal - with the inclusion of the interlude, it feels like almost 20 songs jumbled together. Not all songs are memorable and ofcourse some of them are unable to distinguish between each other, as the notes and melodies follow a pattern that plagues the album. A bit of tightness in their song list and structure could go a long way - the album beautifully glides, but never soars.
