thelukasband is a movement, passionate about creating innovative worship music, serving, training & mentoring worship teams, reaching and connecting people with Jesus around the world. Based in Sydney, Australia and founded by Luke Munns, who grew up at Hillsong Church main campus as one of the founding members of Hillsong UNITED and the main Hillsong Worship recording and touring drummer for ten years. Luke recorded and released his first EP simply entitled 'LUKAS Demo’ which went viral and gained a dedicated international fan base with hundreds of thousands of downloads.
Forging ahead, evolving their sound and live experience has seen thelukasband share the stages with such diverse acts as Newsboys, Delirious, MXPX, Switchfoot, Antiskeptic, Angela’s Dish, The Getaway Plan, Project 86, Guy Sebastian & Brooke Fraser and more.
Recent singles Abandoned (Ft. Northie) and Heaven On The Earth debuted at #1 on the Australian iTunes alongside artists such as Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, Matt Redman, Darlene Zschech and Bethel Music. LUKAS then released 'My Rescue' (partnering with Nick & Christine Caine from A21), which was performed live on the national mainstream Australian television program, The Morning Show. They also released 'LUKAS - Live At The Grove' which reached over 1.5 million people online.
