Not your typical alternative rock band, but definitely rock and definitely alternative, Them Dirty Shrikes is a four-piece alternative rock band from Pretoria, South Africa. With Soné Briel on vocals, Stiaan du Preez on guitar, SL LeRoux Minnaar on bass guitar and Adriaan Cruywagen on drums.
Formed in 2016, Them Dirty Shrikes have had the privilege of opening for the likes of Arno Carstens, Jonathan Peyper Trio, Cutting Jade, The Black Cat Bones and many more. Their festival debut being at Misty Waters Music Festival 2018, following the release of their debut EP ‘Heads or Tails’ featuring 5 of their original songs. They are also looking forward to play at Oppikoppi Festival in August 2018.
Their sound is dirty, heavy and rock n roll, but with their dynamic range you will also be surprised to find a gentle side to their music, as their influences range from the Blues to Doom.
