I’m Otaviano Junior, a 22-year-old composer born in Campinas, Brazil. From a young age, I’ve been fascinated by the sounds around me, turning any noise into music in my mind. I taught myself to play the guitar, which has become the foundation of all my compositions.
Despite this passion, I faced personal challenges when I was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Instead of hiding, I chose to speak openly about the condition, aiming to break the stigma that still surrounds it. Schizophrenia, like any other illness, can be managed, and with medication, I live a full and balanced life.
Music is my greatest source of strength and expression. Through it, I channel my deepest emotions. Today, I compose classical and ambient music, using my art to show that schizophrenia doesn’t define me, but rather my ability to create and transform the world around me.
