Formed in the winter of 2018, Thirteenth hit the ground hard with their blistering Self Titled Demo. The songs “Pressure” and “Rip it Out” would use lyrical content coming from the heart of vocalist Terry Bradshaw, pulling inspiration from his life growing up as POC in a world that still glorifies its racist past. These racially driven themes will be a constant throughout the discography of Thirteenth.
In their first year, Thirteenth gained momentum fast in the local North Carolina Hardcore scene. Attaching themselves to big tour tickets with staples in the genre like Judiciary (Closed Casket) Vatican (1126) Chamber (Pure Noise) Ultimately carving a name for themselves as one of the best live up and coming bands in North Carolina.
The band would go to follow up their 2019 live shows with their second release, “Street Disciple” with this release Thirteenth really nailed down their sound with 5 more high energy tracks. Chaotic drums laid over heavy riffing, with Terry getting into an almost 90’s hip hop inspired lyrical flow on a few tracks.
The band used this EP to project themselves even further into the North and South Carolina heavy music scene. Following up their release with shows with Gideon (Equal Vision) Higher Power (Roadrunner) Sect (Southern Lord) Magnitude (Triple B) solidifying their spot as a band that was out to make a name for themselves at any cost.
