Daniel Yoong wears many hats - producer, studio session musician, touring musician, writes for film and jingles, and also an artist in his own right. After releasing his first album T.I.N.Y. in 2010, he gained a lot of attention in his home country, Malaysia and SouthEast Asia.
In late 2011, Daniel started focusing on writing and recording music with/for other musicians around and embarked on a journey doing many different things in the music industry with a priority of touring and studio work. He has toured with Steve Thornton (Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Tracy Chapman), the JUNY Brothers, Gabriel Lynch, Army of Three and many more. In July of 2016, Daniel released his second album - First Love with a few US and SEA tours to support the album.
He took yet another short break to focus on finishing college (Berklee College of Music) and being a studio musician all while relocating from Nashville from Boston.
Daniel started focusing on his artistry again after going through a rough patch in life. He took on a different name - DY and started going into indie pop drawing inspiration from COIN, Hippo Campus, and Tame Impala. He released Changing as the first single of the new sound, Bedtime Story being his second single and is set for one more song for 2019.

thisis. DY is the amalgamation of all of Daniel's music ideas. As a songwriter and musician, he aims to showcase his love for different styles of music and to share the different kinds of music he makes.
