Employing a combination of beautifully crafted folk-rock songs and a staggering weathered voice, Thom Lyons has been winning over audiences on both sides of the Atlantic for years.

After growing up in London the youngest son of two Irish immigrants, he became an immigrant himself in 2011 when he fell in love with a girl and followed her 5000 miles away to Portland OR.

His forthcoming EP “Transatlantic”, his first release since his 2012 eponymous album, is a collection of 6 songs touching on themes of loss, perseverance, marriage, hometowns and heroes. It’s the sound of someone who spent his late teens and early twenties working in a record store and consuming as much music as he could lay his hands on. From foot-stomping rockers like “Will You Be Mine?”, to the delicate folk of “Heartbreaker” and the gospel-tinged powerhouse duet “Learn How To Love Again”, he takes you on a whirlwind musical tour of his influences.

It couldn’t have been done without an assortment of Portland’s finest musicians, regular collaborator and producer Peter Rodocker, and several special guests, including old friends Anna Tivel and Megan Slankard, as well as Jenny Conlee of The Decemberists.
