Here's a bit of my bio. Music to me is about connecting soul to sound - emotion is the most important element to me in music and translating that passion in a meaningful way.
I grew up in Somerset, UK and was lucky that my Dad always had a guitar hanging around the house....
Growing up as a pastors kid, church was and is a big part of my life - It is also where I get a lot of my history and influence - When I was just 15 I was allowed to sit in the worship bands and strum along, which gave me fantastic experience... I have never been able to read music, but I've always been able to write songs - the first song I wrote and recorded was about my sister, Chloe, called 'Special Child' - that was when I was part of my first band 'Amos' we recorded an album called 'Quiet Please' and did concerts around our local area.
The most serious project I've ever been involved in was my band 'brother john' - we recorded and gigged extensively for a period of about 10 years - in this time I hold some special memories. Our final album was called 'Waiting on the Walls' and was released through our own label 'Risen Records' - This ended around 2010 when I decided I couldn't continue.
Fast forward to today and I feel renewed enthusiasm particularly for recording and have decided to release music under my name Thomas J Maynard - which is where we are today!
