Þórdís Gerður Jónsdóttir (Thordis Gerdur Jonsdottir) is an Icelandic cellist, based in Denmark, who plays both classical music and jazz and likes to mix her favourite elements from the two genres in her playing and improvising, as well as in her compositions. Þórdís is a founding member of Cauda Collective, a chamber ensemble that seeks creative ways to bring together classical repertoire with new music and combine with other art mediums. Recorded in 2018 and released in 2021, Vistir, is Þórdís' first solo album. Photos by Therese Vadum.
