The sound of Thoughts of Alexander is inspired by various demo tapes of indie and new wave artists. The recordings are very raw and unpolished, this because almost everything was recorded first take, in his own bedroom, directly onto an eight track cassette recorder with only one microphone. Arthur likes to use a lot of tape recorders for delay and saturation effects on the tracks. This gives his music an overall seventies vibe which suits the simplistic idea behind his music.
