In June and July 1984 the US heavy metal label Combat funded a super session and enlisted Carl Canedy (drums) to write and produce an album’s worth of material. Canedy formed a writing partnership with guitarist Andy MacDonald and they put the ‘Thrasher’ band together at the Music America Studios in New York. An impressive line-up was amassed: Kenny Aaronson (Derringer/ HSAS; bass), Dickie Peterson (Blue Cheer; vocals), Billy Sheehan (Talas; bass), Mars Cowling (Pat Travers Band; bass), Maryann Scandiffio (Black Lace; vocals), Dan Spitz (Anthrax; guitar), Jack Starr (Virgin Steel; guitar), Rhett Forrester (Riot; vocals), Kim Simmonds (Savoy Brown; guitar), Gary Bordonaro (Rods; bass) and additional vocalists James Rivera, Leslie Dunn and Jackie Kenyon.
