Threering is an American progressive metal band from Las Vegas, Nevada. They play a style of music drawing elements of thrash metal, alternative metal, classic rock, and NWOBHM. There is considerable emphasis given to heavily layered guitars and string arrangements.
The band was started by guitarist/vocalist Adam Doxtater and drummer Phillip Howell. Both had been playing music together in previous bands since the early 1990s. Their first album, <a href="spotify:album:1hPwk1wgdGdivndeCoWE50" data-name="Diagram for Self Destruction">Diagram for Self Destruction</a>, was recorded at Matt Sorum's (<a href="spotify:artist:3qm84nBOXUEQ2vnTfUTTFC" data-name="Guns N' Roses">Guns N' Roses</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7CHilrn81OdYjkh4uSVnYM" data-name="Velvet Revolver">Velvet Revolver</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:49DW3KvkyjHO35mK1JnSyS" data-name="The Cult">The Cult</a>) home studio in Hollywood, California and released on March 10, 2015. After a short break, they began work on their second album, <a href="spotify:album:6r9Eve9gwF1xYJWQuWAO5b" data-name="Whole Again">Whole Again</a> , which was released on February 17, 2017. A definite departure from the sound of the previous album, <a href="spotify:album:6r9Eve9gwF1xYJWQuWAO5b" data-name="Whole Again">Whole Again</a> was more progressive in nature and included a duet with Melody Schoenfeld, <a href="spotify:track:7JhJU4GSWXna7EFuFNNmVZ" data-name="Can Anybody Hear Me?">Can Anybody Hear Me?</a> which has been well-received worldwide, seeing nearly a million combined plays/downloads on YouTube, Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, etc. and has been heard in 76 countries.
