Thrown Away Thoughts is a prog rock project created by multi-instrumentalist Kyle Scott. Co-founded with drummer/longtime friend Josh Hofmeister, they began playing live in 07 and gained traction in the thriving scene of Anchorage, Alaska.
The 1st self-produced album "Anatomy Of Being Alive" was released in 2010, using irregular song structures and influences from bands like Coheed and Cambria, and The Fall of Troy to create an ambitious and youthful beginning to the catalog. The next years yielded fruitful results as the band shared the stage with Portugal. The Man, Dance Gavin Dance, iwrestledabearonce, and Eyes Set To Kill. Late 2011 included working with Buzzbizz Studios for the 2012 album "Liar, Said The Phoenix", which built upon the original sound but included more focused songwriting.
After line-up changes, friends Austin Farmer (keys/synth) & Tanner Lackey (guitars) joined and writing for the 3rd album began with a hopeful release in 2013, but halfway through recording a stretch of unfortunate events caused a hiatus. However the importance of the songs never faded. In 2018 Kyle resumed the project, finalizing those ideas into what became "Mornings of November", a new album released in 2019 with a more mature approach. Less aggressive than previous work, but still employing the same progressive tendencies.
The uncertainty of 2020 brought Kyle to Portland where plans for a new chapter of music have taken root.
