Thyrargo was formed in 2018 by the two guitar players Alexander Kuoppala and Mika Sundvall.
Together they had several common projects under their belt already. Alexander had written raw and
brutal songs prior, which were now decided to be put together with a full band.
Thus began the search for other musicians. It was important to find people not just with the right
skill set, but with the right attitude as well. Drummer Juska Forelius was quickly recruited, as he
was known to the two from earlier joint prospects.
Juska brought in bass player Aksel Kaya. Not only was his talent with his instrument great, but
mindset was just in place for the band as well. Eventually vocalist Ossi Paldanius was found to
complete the group. His powerful vocals has just the right character and rage that did match
perfectly with music of Thyrargo.
The line-up was then complete in 2019. Recording of the first EP soon followed, and "Impulses"
began slowly to see the light in Helsinki mid 2020. Recordings were completed early 2021, after
which the search for the right person to mix and wrap up the EP begun. After going through several
candidates, man with the right vision for the sound of "Impulses", and for Thyrargo as a whole, was
found.
