The Tiger City Jukes has been one of Norway’s leading blues bands since their beginning in 1995. They have released five albums in their carrier, and their style have changed from almost vintage Chicago blues on their first album, towards a swampier rock feeling on the following albums. On their fifth album, Moonlight Crying, they wanted to create music independent of a certain style and ended up with music pulling influences from a lot of styles, but still built on a swampy blues foundation.
Now the Tiger City Jukes have released their sixth album, “Live I Artilleriverkstedet” (Live in the Artillery Workshop). As the name says, its recorded live in a club established in an old navy artillery workshop in the city of Horten, Norway. The band wanted to recreate the vibe from their latter album and extended the band from a quartet to a nine-piece band.
The band is basically touring in Norway as a quartet: Knut Eide, lead vocals, guitars and harmonica; Harald Stokke, guitars and backing vocals, Atle Rakvaag, bass and backing vocals; Espen Moen, drums
