In the fall of 1997, Dr. Dan Rash hand-picked a group of Clemson men based on talent and character to become a part of Clemson University history. Under Dr. Rash’s direction, TIGEROAR, sporting their classic orange blazers, quickly became distinguished for their captivating performances on campus featuring the famous Clemson fight song, “Tiger Rag.” TIGEROAR has established itself as a unique part of Clemson University, and the collegiate a cappella scene.
Going into TIGEROAR’s 20th year, the group attributes its successes and achievements to the men that wore their blazers before them. TIGEROAR’s heavy reliance on the legacy and traditions established by members before them is just one of the many things that makes TIGEROAR special, and every year at the Fall and Spring Shows, TIGEROAR alumni in the audience are invited to come on stage to sing “Tiger Rag” with the group one more time.
TIGEROAR is currently under the direction of Dr. David Conley, who has been with the group since its inception. Dr. Conley’s wisdom and leadership have contributed immeasurably to the continuous growth of TIGEROAR, and the men that are in it—past, present, and future. TIGEROAR would like to thank Dr. Rash, Dr. Conley, their choral directors Dr. Durham and Dr. Bernaducci, Clemson University, our mothers, and those beautiful Clemson women for enabling and encouraging us to do what we do. Go Tigers!
