TIM BONIFACE is a jazz saxophonist and pianist based in Cambridge, UK.
A leader of his own ensembles and collaborator with many renowned jazz musicians on the UK scene, Tim is in high demand as a performer and educator, and also a composer whose imaginatively conceived jazz suites have received critical acclaim. His latest work, Psalter: Themes for Peace, premiered at St Alban's Cathedral in January 2024, is released on CD with Audio-B on 4 July 2025.
Tim runs the regular Sunday Sessions at The Lab in Cambridge, where as the leader of house trio he has collaborated with a wide array of top UK jazz names, and is regularly found leading a trio in Cambridge's University Arms Hotel. He works with the Cambridge University Centre for Music Performance and Cambridge University Faculty of Music as well as teaching privately.
Tim is also the Chaplain at Girton College, University of Cambridge, a pubished theologian, and the artistic director of Girton Jazz, a unique programme of public concerts and student workshops at the College. He regularly partners with pianist extraordinaire James Pearson (Ronnie Scott's All Stars) in two unique shows: 'The History of Jazz in 90 Minutes', and 'The Jazz of Your Life'.
