Charleston, SC based songwriter Tim Brennan is quietly building a catalog of memorable songs that have their roots in 80's and 90's college rock, with a healthy dose of modern indie vibe. In 2017 he realease an EP under the name Honeytheif with lead singer Spenser Hooks that contained four songs leftover from Tim's songwriting and bassist stints in underground artists World In A Room and Rabler 454. In late 2019, Tim went into Blacksound studios in Pasadena and began recording an ambitions album about his 10 yars living in Charleston. That album was interruped by Covid. Instead of letting that album die or any follow-up songs to lay dormant for a while, Tim recruited remote musicians from Fountains of Wayne, Sweetpple, Rob Thomas, and others to collaborate. The result is a constant stream of singles that are building into what will become one collection of his years in Charleston and another collection that are songs written since. The Charleston collection will begin with the song he wrote on his drive to Charleston - full of the excitemetn and hope that move promised. The final song has already been released - Paper Boats - which was written on the plane ride to Pasadena and refelct the harsh realities of life after a decade of relocation.
Please, enjoy. Someoday he'll reveal which songs were about Charleston and which are abotu life after. Until then.....make up your own story from the collection.
