Tim Winchester

Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, and now calling Maine home, Tim Winchester is an indie-folk artist known for writing soothing and sorrowful songs. Rooted in contemporary folk but preferential to empty space, his music is tender, atmospheric, and moody.

His debut full-length album, Into The Open (released January 2021), emerged during the global pause of the pandemic and immediately introduced his intimate, acoustic storytelling to listeners featuring 13 deeply reflective tracks.

Building on that foundation, Tim’s sophomore album, Northern Lights, arrived in August 2022 featuring 8 tracks. Critics lauded the album for its atmospheric arrangements and lyrical precision — “soothing balms of halcyon vocals that have both warmth and depth”

Tim has shaped a distinct niche: contemporary folk that doesn’t just tell stories, but inhabits a mood — a tender space where sorrow and solace intertwine, made all the more impactful by the sparseness, honesty, and subtle craftsmanship of his sound.
