Composer, singer, conductor Timur Selçuk is one of the greatest modern composers of Turkey who has developed a unique musical language in his compositions and arrangements. He is the son of the classical Turkish music legend Münir Nurettin Selçuk. Timur Selçuk is widely known for his hit songs however he has compositions for piano, film, theater, opera, ballet, chamber music as well as symphonic orchestra. His whole life Selcuk’s compositions reflected the sensitivity of sharing musical elements of his home country with the tools of polyphonic music so that music could convey a cultural and geographical imprint but embrace all people in the world. He said: "All honest, compassionate people in the world who advocate for justice in big or small ways, are my sisters and brothers." This sentence is now written on his grave. He passed away on November 6, 2020.
