TiNG

TiNG is an eight-member international band based in Prague, weaving a colorful tapestry of sound from a variety of styles. Their unique sound draws from their different backgrounds and musical influences such as swing, reggae, ska, gypsy, dancehall, drum 'n bass, and hip-hop. Frontman and multi-instrumentalist MC Turner (USA) writes socially conscious lyrics and has a voice that is part Jamaica and part old school punk. Backing him up are his brother and guitarist Miller (USA), drummer Omar (MEX) and Czech musicians Hot Dan (guitar), Karel (bass), Filip (sax), Mira (trumpet) and Michal (sax).
In 2017 TiNG released their third album “<a href="spotify:album:4T4CjYjg5ZYEea1c1rl27E" data-name="Alter Ego">Alter Ego</a>&quot;, which showed the many sides of TiNG’s music: swing, gypsy, dub-reggae, ska..etc., and featured the Czech/English drinking anthem “ <a href="spotify:track:6Dgfb3MfT9Rw5fKCtWhTe9" data-name="Jestli Chlastáš">Jestli Chlastáš</a>&quot;.
Their debut album “<a href="spotify:album:5vc8c6e9VRbQLYt9tGHWg0" data-name="Man vs. Wild">Man vs. Wild</a>&quot; received the Andel prize (Czech Music Awards) in 2013 for best album in the category Ska and Reggae, and had the popular track &quot;<a href="spotify:track:3NWRh1a5XAVHo75uaEBqlN" data-name="Spiritual Jamaican">Spiritual Jamaican</a>&quot;.
<a href="spotify:album:6egib6BQONZ50NKkZnd6mh" data-name="Born for a Storm">Born for a Storm</a> was also nominated in 2015.
The band has played on the major stages and festivals in the Czech Republic as well as tours across Europe.
